The notion of primary care itself as a protective factor in mitigating the impact of trauma is often overlooked. However, despite notable challenges and limitations throughout our primary care system, there are instances where primary care practices and health systems serve as protective factors.
This article underscores the crucial role of pediatric and primary care in protecting against the adverse effects of trauma and offers practical measures practices can use toward this goal.
